In a press release yesterday Microsoft has announced that it is to fold many well-known software products into its online services in an attempt to compete more aggressively with rivals such as Google. They have announced the launch of Windows Live. As per the press release “Over the coming months we are making a number of visionary changes to online advertising: changes that will bring exciting, new opportunities to the way you advertise and connect to your customers on the web. Over the coming months we will be offering you the chance to build greater brand intimacy and closer engagement with your customers through the most effective online advertising experience ever available.

 

Today, MSN is one of the world’s strongest channels for online advertisers, offering global reach, together with a broad, high quality audience. Building on the success of this MSN service excellence Microsoft is announcing an exciting step forward that will deepen it’s investment in both Web based services and visionary advertising - a Microsoft advertising vision which will make it possible for advertisers to connect to a growing range of consumer rich Microsoft online assets.

 

With the launch of Windows Live, The firm will deliver many of its key products and services online, some supported by advertising and others provided on the basis of subscriptions, or licenses for software installed on computers.
